Help a child in Hartford get the food they need when they're not at school.
The Hands on Hartford  Backpack Nutrition Program serves 228 students across six Hartford Public Schools. Each Friday students receive a backpack with food items to take home for the weekend to help tide them over until the next school week. Often items are shared within the household with siblings and other family. Unfortunately, Hands on Hartford is facing a shortfall for the first round of backpacks for the start of the school year. With the food resources that you have access to and your initiatives around food disparity and hunger we would be honored to have your help and ask that you please consider making an in-kind or financial donation to help Hartford's children get the nutritious and easy-to-prepare foods they need.

Leadership Greater Hartford's Quest program: is a collaboration of area professionals from many different sectors, connected by the idea of growing stronger together through collaborative leadership and social responsibility. Our class has been working to support local initiatives and non-profits that impact the city of Hartford and learned that food insecurity is a major issue affecting the overall heatlh, behaviour, and education of students.
