With recent increases in COVID-19 cases, businesses still opening slowly, and many still working and going to school remotely - the need for food is still great 1 year later!
With a +66% increase in food insecurity on Long Island (2020 vs. 2019), here is how Long Island Cares supported our community from March 2020-January 2021:
- 255,674 total people assisted of which 171,006 came for the 1st time
- 17.4 million pounds of food distributed

Donating food is easy! Click on SHOP NOW to purchase the goods you would like to donate. You will be emailed a tax receipt at the time of purchase. All goods ordered online will be shipped directly to Long Island Cares after the drive ends.
In addition to getting the food they need, Long Island Cares receives a 5% cash donation from YouGiveGoods based on the retail value of purchases from sponsored drive.
