Join the Long Island Ismaili Muslim Community in supporting fellow New Yorkers
In the spirit of Navroz, a festival that marks the beginning of a new year and signifies a spirit of gratitude and an outlook of hope and optimism, the Northeast Ismaili Muslim community is running a virtual food drive! For Lake Success Jamatkhana, we are partnering with Long Island Cares.
With a +66% increase in food insecurity on Long Island (2020 vs. 2019), here is how Long Island Cares supported our community from March 2020-January 2021:
- 255,674 total people assisted of which 171,006 came for the 1st time
- 17.4 million pounds of food distributed
