Lisa Tomasi embodies passion and commitment in her role as YouGiveGoods’ President.
As the founder of YouGiveGoods, Lisa’s extraordinary leadership and vision has firmly established the company as the leader of virtual in-kind good drives and contests.
Lisa has been involved with nonprofits throughout her adult life. She first came to understand their important role in society while living in San Francisco during a devastating earthquake. Aided by the Red Cross, she spent three days living in a park, hoping to go home. While an awful experience, it motivated Lisa into dedicating her life to service: volunteering at battered women shelters, building houses in Haiti and founding several scholarship funds.
Lisa first pursued a career in media and advertising at MMT and Telerep before engaging in the more demanding, but rewarding, role of mother to four daughters.
Mary Lonergan brings years of remarkable success in growing businesses to her role as Director of Strategic Partnerships at YouGiveGoods.
With a keen understanding of marketing, sales and finance, Mary is uniquely positioned to help lead a drive to success.
Her background includes extensive experience at Johnson & Johnson, College Concepts, Reckitt & Colman, and Information Resources, Inc.
During her 10 years at home raising five children, Mary kept active running county-wide events, including a Support Our Troops Rally, Habitat for Humanity Home-in-a-Box build, and the co-founding of Back2Tap, an online green fundraising business.
She has received a Founder’s Award from Habitat for Humanity (2006) for coordinating massive volunteer and fundraising effort for their “Home in a Box” project; and an Honorable Mention for the 2009 NJ Governor’s Environmental Excellence Award for Back2Tap.
Mary’s experience in fundraising and community-based sustainability makes her an invaluable partner for launching and running drives.
On January 12, 2010, a catastrophic 7.0 earthquake destroyed much of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, killing more than 200,000 people, leaving 2.3 million homeless, and thousands of homes, schools, and hospitals destroyed.
Paul and Lisa Tomasi immediately contributed supplies and money towards the rebuilding process. However, the inefficiencies of the in-kind donation system was disheartening: getting goods to the nonprofits that were both needed and could be used proved to be more difficult than expected. The more the Tomasi’s worked with the system, the more they recognized there had to be a better, more efficient way.
Two years later, YouGiveGoods was born. Based upon the premise of an online supply drive solution created in partnership with nonprofits, and ensuring the goods received through the drive arrived new, sorted and in a manner guaranteed to be usable.
YouGiveGoods has since expanded it's partnership to include individuals, corporations, and schools: anyone looking for an easier way to manage or support a drive. Items offered have expanded beyond food to include emergency supplies, pets, personal supplies, and blankets. Today, YouGiveGoods unites and engages communities across the nation, in support of every possible cause.
