6 in 10 New York City children are not reading at grade level. You have the power to impact that statistic! This year’s school supply drive will support United Way of New York City’s (UWNYC) ReadNYC initiative that provides students with the tools they need to succeed.
You can easily help in 1 of 3 ways!
1) SPONSOR YOUR OWN VIRTUAL SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE: Click here to easily set up your own school supply drive or contact eventspecialist@yougivegoods.com to get started. Ask us about including your company match! In addition, UWNYC will get a 5% cash donation on all sponsor drive purchases!
2) SHOP ONLINE TO DONATE SUPPLIES: Click on SHOP below next to ReadNYC Supporters to purchase the supplies you would like to donate. You will be emailed a tax receipt at the time of purchase. All supplies ordered online will be shipped directly to our partner schools after the drive ends.
3) MAKE A MONETARY CONTRIBUTION DIRECTLY TO UNITED WAY OF NYC to help fund our programs.
ReadNYC is UWNYC’s signature program to improve grade-level reading by third grade - a critical milestone in determining a child’s future academic & economic success. The impact of school closures and the disproportionate impact of COVID- 19 in already vulnerable communities has and will continue to exacerbate long-standing disparities and opportunity gaps. Your donation will provide needed school supplies and PPE to children and position them for increased success as they navigate hybrid virtual and in-person school schedules this Fall.
