Help us keep all bottoms covered!
What does the Diaper Bank Project do?
We are a UC Davis student-based nonprofit organization that collects diapers and other pediatric supplies for low-income families in our community. The diapers are donated to pediatric clinics affiliated with the UC Davis Health System and help relieve the financial burden faced by many families in economic distress.
Why is this important?
Diapers are an expensive cost, and babies need 10-12 diapers per day. Without regular diaper changes, babies run the risk of infections, diaper rash, and other health problems that require medical attention and can put an additional financial strain on the families. Social welfare systems like WIC do not cover diapers, and most daycares require enough diapers for the day to attend. Providing diapers will give family financial relief and help keep their children in daycare, so they can keep working. Poverty negatively affects a child's development, and with your help, we can attenuate this effect and help children thrive!
