During these most difficult times the outpouring of generosity and support for our virtual holiday toy drives was both astounding and heart-warming resulting in record high shopping numbers on our site. Although we accounted for possible delays in processing/shipping due to COVID, the volume, delays and obstacles far exceeded our expectations. In addition to supply chain disruptions, we also faced a COVID outbreak in our warehouse facilities at a crucial time which caused us to lose several important processing days and to operate at less than maximum capacity for several more. The health and safety of our employees and our facilities partners and COVID protocols took priority and order processing across the board was significantly delayed.

While we have been tracking similar issues plaguing giants like UPS, FedEx and the post office, we remain committed to delivering the toys purchased for donation on our site to their intended recipients. Remember, this is all we do. Getting new, donated goods to charities is our specialty and has been for 9 years, but we find ourselves dealing with compounding issues many of which are out of our control.

We understand your frustration and disappointment as we deal with the possibility of our deliveries arriving after scheduled toy distribution dates. And for this, we are truly sorry. COVID has caused us to realign our expectations for many months now, and this is another situation that calls for us to quickly pivot and rally together to overcome these obstacles. School has changed. Travel has changed. Perhaps this year’s toy distribution could change too? We ask for your partnership and flexibility to make toy distribution to kids in need happen no matter the delivery date. We ask this in the spirit in which the gifts were purchased – with the hope that a new toy will brighten an otherwise dreary year for a child in need.
