Join Xavier High School in our Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive Homeroom Challenge!
At Xavier High School, we know that it's hard to study if you're hungry; in fact, it's really hard to do anything. Our neighbor, Xavier Mission, serves more than 100,000 meals each year to hungry New Yorkers and provides special support to people at Thanksgiving. Please join the Xavier community to collect food once again for Xavier Mission so that no one goes hungry this Thanksgiving!
Helping is so easy! Find your team below and select 'SHOP' to purchase the food items you would like to donate. You will be emailed a receipt for your purchase - online prices include shipping and handling. At the end of the drive, all donations will be delivered directly to Xavier Mission.
Please share this Online Food Drive with your family and friends; anyone can donate! On behalf of Xavier Mission and Xavier High School, thank you for your support this year!
St. Peter's Prep, Regis, Fordham Prep, Loyola, Fairfield Prep, and Xavier High School are participating in The Great Ignatian Challenge, a donation competition sponsored by a generous Jesuit-school alumnus. This friendly but spirited competition is intended to strengthen each school's Thanksgiving food drive, further raising awareness of hunger in our communities while filling local food banks and pantries with tens of thousands of pounds of much-needed provisions for needy families. This Great Ignatian Challenge will run October 15 - November 19. However, Xavier's online drive will run from October 15 - November 9 to allow time for the food to be delivered to the Xavier Mission. After November 9, students will bring donations in to their homerooms! Our in-school drive will continue until November 19.
The Challenge derives its name from St. Ignatius of Loyola, who taught, "Love consists of sharing what one has and what one is with those one loves. Love ought to show itself in deeds more than in words." We are collectively putting those words into action.
A key component of a Jesuit education is caring for the wider community which allows students to gain first-hand knowledge of local, national, and global issues. Through service to the community, the students prepare for the day when they will participate in their world as competent, concerned, and responsible members who are committed to social justice.
Thank you for your support! Your contributions will strengthen our community by helping others in need.
