At Xavier High School, service to others is who we are! We are proud to support our neighbor, Xavier Mission, which serves more than 120,000 meals each year to hungry New Yorkers and provides special support to people at Thanksgiving. Please join the Xavier community to collect food once again so that no one goes hungry this Thanksgiving!
This year in particular, your support is urgently needed. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of families seeking food from Xavier Mission has increased by 20%, and more people keep reaching out each month. Xavier Mission has so far been able to meet the growing demand, but they are relying on us to help them through these next few difficult months.
This year, our goal is to reach 15,000 donated items, which will allow the Xavier Mission to feed over 200 families on Thanksgiving Day as well as keep their pantry well stocked throughout the winter months.
In addition, we are again participating in The Great Ignatian Challenge, a friendly competition among the Northeast Jesuit schools meant to inspire further giving, collaboration, and awareness related to issues of hunger. A Fordham alumnus who was inspired by the existing Thanksgiving food drives at each school has again pledged $250,000 in tuition assistance at the nine participating schools. Intended to further highlight the spirit of generosity across our Jesuit network, the donation will be divided among the schools based on the amount of food collected by each school community.
Helping is so easy! Find your team below and select 'SHOP' to purchase the food items you would like to donate. You will be emailed a receipt for your purchase - online prices include shipping and handling. At the end of the drive, all donations will be delivered directly to Xavier Mission.
Please share this Online Food Drive with your family and friends; anyone can donate! On behalf of the Xavier Mission and Xavier High School, thank you for your support this year!
