Assist our United In Care families this fall with classroom supply boxes - helping virtually is easy!
Help us provide 8,000 local students with the tools they need for academic success. No child should grow up without access to the resources and opportunity to meet their potential. School supplies have gotten more expensive -- rising to an average $80 per child annually, according to inflation data. For ALICE® (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) families and those in poverty struggling to afford basics, such as rent and food, providing necessary back-to-school supplies is an added financial hardship. Your volunteer efforts and donations through United Way Tools For School can help thousands of elementary, middle, and high school students get off to the right start.
Beginning in 2023, we are expanding Tools for School to further assist our United In Care families and care providers by providing much-needed Classroom Supply Boxes. Women United is taking the lead in this effort and focusing our involvement, both in donating supplies for the boxes, as well as volunteering to pack the boxes for each United In Care classroom. The impact will be significant, as hundreds of young children in United In Care classrooms and their teachers will have the supplies, they need to promote learning and engagement.
